Arrival in Huangshan
Huangshan sits surprisingly close to Shanghai—just three hours by bullet train, or a forty-five-minute flight. Your local guide will be waiting in the arrivals hall to welcome you, with your private driver on standby to take you to your hotel to settle in.
In the late afternoon, ride the cable car up the mountain's eastern face. At the top, an easy forty-minute to one-hour walk brings you to a quiet vantage point for sunset—the first of Huangshan's great, unhurried spectacles as the light softens over the peaks.
